Is it illegal to spit on someone's car in the state of new york?

i had problems with a few guys at work for months now and it got so bad where one of them put there hands on me on two different occasions i nthe same day and then him and his friends knew i told so they wrote statements saying that i instigated it, knowing he would get fired so they decided to take me down with him so last night i saw one of them at his work (not my work anymore) so iw as eating crunch n munch and spit a healthy one on his car and i guess they saw it on camera after he noticed popcorn chewed up on his car. can i get in trouble cuz he's a punk and tries to bully people but if u do anything back he runs to the boss at work and calls the cops. i was stupid and i know it but it felt good at the time. thanks for any answers excapt people that just have rude things to say
