Why won't my lap top read my memory card..?

I put it in where you're supposed to and it used to work fine before but now it doesn't show that's in there. If it helps I have a Zap Glider Micro SD Adapter, and a 4GB Zap Glider Micro SD HC, at least that what it says on them. So why doesn't it work and how could make it work again?
